Wholesale Reception Desk: Measurements Buyers Forget Until Installation Day

A wholesale reception desk looks simple in a catalog. On site, the wrong return side or a desk that’s 80 mm too long blocks a door and becomes everyone’s problem.
If you buy reception desks for projects or stock, treat measurements like part of the product — not an afterthought.

Wall length first. Measure the clear wall where the desk sits, then subtract space for door swing, fire equipment, and walking past the counter. An L-shape needs a left or right return written on the PO. “L-shape” alone is how factories guess — and guessing is expensive.
Height for visitors vs staff. Many commercial fronts sit around 1050–1100 mm so standing guests can sign in. The inner work surface is usually near desk height (~750 mm). Single-level desks exist; say which you want. Mixed-height units cost more to customize but read more professional in corporate lobbies.
What staff actually store. Badges, keys, a PC or laptop, cables, sometimes a small printer. If storage isn’t on the quote, installers stack boxes under the desk. Ask for drawers or a low cabinet in the first round — overall width changes when you add them.

Color under lobby light. “Light oak” without a code drifts between shipments. Send a finish code or an approved sample photo.
