Reception Desks: L-Shapes, Straight Runs, and What Buyers Forget to Measure

Reception desks look simple until the electrician shows up.Most of our reception jobs are either a straight run against a wall or an L-shape that wraps a corner column. Both are fine. The mistakes happen when nobody measures the low voltage box, the floor drain cover, or the door swing before we cut the carcass.

For hotels and clinics, we usually spec a durable melamine finish — not the high-gloss showroom look that shows every fingerprint by week two. Cable access matters more than LED gimmicks: a hidden tray beats a glowing logo if your client's IT team has to add ports later.Height is another fight. 750 mm works for seated staff in many Asian projects; 900–1100 mm standing counters show up in lobbies where bags get placed constantly.

 
Tell us which side faces the public and whether you need a knee space for wheelchair access — we can adjust, but not after the side panels are banded. Lead time depends on size and whether the décor is from our running stock. Custom lengths add a round of drawing confirmation. Sample corners are cheap insurance.
